Default Tetanus Antitoxin

On April 19th our horse was given an East/West Influenza + Tetanus vaccine along with a Tetanus Antitoxin vaccine. She had a puncture wound to her shoulder - impaled herself on the wroght iron gate latch.

On June 16th she was salivating and not eating or drinking. The vet took a blood culture and found everything normal except her liver enzymes were very high and her sugar levels were very low. Efforts to put fluids in - saline + glucouse failed. We lost her the next day, June 17th. She went down and we did the humane thing and had her put to sleep.

Was it possible it was due to the tetanus? Are there side effects associated with liver failure?
