Does anyone KNOW why Testim Gel cannot be applied to abdomen/stomach region or to genitals? I have not been doing this but just wonder what are the reasons for this gel to be so localized to shoulders/upper arms.

The only reason I can think of is due to the fact that it can rub off on to your spouse or SO. Is there any other medical reason though? Some reason that will have some undesired effect on me? That's my question.

I suspect you would not want to apply it to the genitals, as it is an alcohol based gel...and anything alcohol will burn like crazy when applied to the scrotum and shaft of the penis.

Second, by placing the drug on the shoulders, and then covering it with a shirt, it is less likely to come in contact with others. However, if you're engaging in coitus with another, your belly is going to be in close proximity to them, and you might be transferring it to them...which is exactly what they want to avoid.
