Default tamper-free oxycontin?

I heard that the makers of oxycontin are developing a tamper-free version of the drug so when you crush or otherwise disturb the time release lining, the oxycodone chemically becomes useless. I think I read this in a Newsweek magazine about 3 or 4 years ago and haven't heard anything about it since. I was just wondering if it was true or has already happened.

they did say they were coming out with an oxycontin that if you did crush or chew them a chemical releases and makes the oxycodone useless. There is an oxycontin released last year that if broken something inside it turns into gel when it gets wet so you can't shoot them up or if you snort them it turns into gel in your nose, but they still haven't came out with them i don't know if they are currently working on it. -jon
