Default Taking Paroxetine(Paxil)

Hi all,

I have a problem with social anxiety and shyness and I recently tried taking Paroxetine (which I think is the same drug as Paxil). I came off it after 3 days though because I kept getting an unpleasant tightening feeling in my throat and I kept on yawning all the time too.

The main negative thing was that at around the 2nd or 3rd day I started to feel even less sociable than normal.

I'm thinking of trying the drug again however.

Does the funny feeling in the throat go after a while?

Also, is it common to feel even less sociable than normal to start with?
I'm really alot more concerned about the drug affecting my personality in a negative way rather than about any negative physical symptoms.

Thanks for any advice.

Paroxetine is the generic version of Paxil. Most anti-depressants take 6 weeks before you'll notice the full effects. If the tightening in your throat is just annoying, hang in there. If it is affecting your breathing, call your doc and get a new med.
