Default Taking a butt load of drugs!

Hi, I just found out today that I have a ruptured disc and the dr. put me on 4 different meds until the 10th of Dec. when I see the spine dr.

Here's the list:

Soma 350 3x day
Lortab 10/500 4 x Day
Lyrica 75 mg 1xday
Celebrex 200mg 1x day

Here's what I am already taken prescribed by my psych.

Klonopin 0.5 mg 2x day
Ativan 1 mg as needed (never take it)
Prozac 40 mg at night

I feel like a walking lab rat!!! Can anyone tell me if they have had to take combinations similar to this...this is quite scary for me and I don't want to be taking so many meds that I keel over dead!! I know the dr. prescribed them all, but I don't totally trust any dr...know what I mean??!!

These two lists are from two different doctors, right?

Are each of them aware of the other prescriptions? It does seem like a lot. Example: Klonipin and Soma...although prescribed for different things...both of these drugs have the depressant effect....

All I can say is make sure both doctors are aware of the other prescriptions and try to only take what you need to stay comfortable. Also...consider explaining that you are not sure you need ALL of these. Who knows??? Maybe your doctor has a really good explanation for why she prescribed this particular combination. Maybe she has found that this exact combo has an extra good outcome. Or..more likely...maybe she is just blindly prescribing stuff to get you out of her hair.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I have, and if you know what they've given you, so do they. Try not to worry about things, anything-- you'll stress yourself out. Everything's gonna be fine, man.

My husband has several bad discs in his back and he is taking most of the meds you are on. He has been on several meds over the past 9 months. My advice seek a neurosurgeon and a pain managment dr. And always tell one what the other is giving you. Good Luck.
