| | Suboxone & trouble waking up Hi, all. I'm curious if anyone else on Suboxone has trouble waking up in the morning, even after a good night's sleep. It's hard to think back if I had this problem before Sub as I've been on it so long (over 2 years), prior to that I was the new mother of a special needs baby, and before that a daily drug user. I know one of the side effects is sedation, so I wonder if that's it, but on the other hand after my a.m. dose I seem to perk up a bit. I am so, so hoping once I'm off Sub this morning to noon zombie zone will go away!! Thanks for sharing any info/insight you have! |

Ariesfire ... Suboxone can have kind of a sedating effect, but it's not something that typically causes us to be "wiped out" when we sleep. I would never question anyone who says suboxone keeps them from waking up but that is not a common side effect. If anything suboxone might be inclined to do just the opposite at times. I've heard from people who occasionally have a little trouble going to sleep, or sleeping well, but I don't recall hearing about what you describe. It seems that occasionally some people are kept awake as a side effect of the naloxone in the suboxone. I don't believe that is even a common side effect, it just happens occasionally. I know that I never had any problems with buprenorphine causing me any problems waking up as long as I wasn't taking any benzos or something similar with it. |

But overall it's been great, and it's gonna get me all better eventually, when I make up my mind. I also get intense waves of sleepiness from it if I stop moving for more than 5 mins.I also have a hard time getting going in the mornings as well when on it. I think it hits everybody different. |

| | It has the opposite effect on me. When I started I would take the 2nd dose right before bedtime and I was so hyped up I couldnt fall asleep. Taking the 2nd dose at dinner time, as per dear Robert's directions, solved that problem. Sometimes it makes me a bit hyper during the day, but never tired or groggy. |

| | So I'm not the only one then! I feel so sick in the morning, zombified really. Then about 10 minutes after I take the Sub I'm ok, still not what I'd like but the B vitamins are helping. I know it's a lot worse now that I'm down to 4mg (2mg a.m. & 2mg p.m.) - I can only make it until 4:30 before I take the second 2mg & by 8 a.m. the next day I'm in rough shape. All hot, crampy, dizzy, sick stomach. Makes me wonder if I don't have the half life most people do, I should be a-ok w/only 16 hours but it is GONE from my system. Quote:
