Default Some questions about Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo...

Hi everybody

I was just wondering if you can help me with some things... see, I started taking the Pill last Sunday and I've been having purple-ish nails since. It's kind of scary since I know you shouldn't be taking it if you've got heart/circulatory problems--which is fine, I don't. But my mom does, so I'm just wondering if she counts. Maybe it's just a coldness thing?

Oh, and, um... I started at 1 PM, and the next two days took them at 1:08-ish. Is it okay if I'm somewhere around 10 minutes late or does it have to be really precise? Thank you! ^_^

Sorry about all that [xx(]

The main cardiac risk associated with birth control is the development of a blood clot. Health conditions that increase your risk for developing a blood clot are diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking and being overweight. If one of your parents has any of these conditions, you are at an increased risk for developing them yourself which means you are in a higher risk catagory even if you are currently healthy. If you are in normal health and do not have any of these risk factors you will probably be okay and the purplish/bluish nails is due to being cold.

Taking your birth control pills within 10 minutes of the same time each day is considered very good compliance and is better than most patients I deal with. Keep up the good work.
