Is oxycodone hcl 5 mg equal to a 10/325 hydrocodone? Simple question......which one of the two is stronger? I am in severe pain and would like to know the correct answer as I've been told differing things.

I was moved from the hydro's 10/325 to 5mg Oxycodone pills.

The answer given to me by my doctor was that 5mg of Oxycodone is equal to 7.5mg of Hydrocodone.

The 325 of Acetaminophen is there to stop you abusing the hydro as it will harm your liver if you have too much (more than 4000 mg per day). For some reason Hydrocodone can not be legally prescribed on its own but Oxy can.

I found the Oxycodone, even at 5mg was more effective at numbing my pain. Also, the Hydro made me very sleepy which the Oxy did not. I started with 2 5mg pills every 3 hours.

I have read different opinions though so it is down to the individual. If you have both why not try them on different days to see which works better for you.
