My first time on and I need some help. Up until two weeks ago, I was feeling very good physically, no medical problems at all. I'm 74 and my husband died November 19, '04. I knew I was stressed emotionally, since I was caregiver to my husband for the past three years, but physically was great and took no meds. Suddenly had a spell with rapid heartbeat which lasted two days and they diagnosed me with atrial fibrillation (sp.), diabetes. In hospital two days and sent home with prescriptions for
verapamil and
digoxin and
Actos for the diabetes. Now after taking the meds I feel lousy, very short of breath if I bend over and any pressure on my diaphram (sp). I feel listless and more stressed than before.
They told me it was because of dehydration caused by stress and that caused the high sugar count and the racing heart.
Anyone out there know what's going on? Am I supposed to feel worse than I did before being medicated? Anyone with similar experiences. Sure appreciate any input. Thanks much. Billie Signer
