Hey guys, you may have or may have not seen my thread in "featured drugs" about depression. Well, i was prescribed
Lexapro for depression(5mg for one week, than 10mg) and
trazodone for sleep. I was doing a drug interaction from this website, at the top toolbar, and decided to put these two in, just out of curiosity. It said there was a major risk, and all though rare, seratonin syndrome could occur. My dr prescribed these thigns to me, so i'm assuming they are safe. It was also brought up during the meeting that my brother used to take Lexapro and
Adderall, which is also a high risk for Seratonin Syndrome (different doctors).
My question is, while im not really worried, was this the right choice? Would i be better off with another medicine for sleep? How accurate is the drug interactions checker? Has anybody else been prescribed either, or both, of these medications at once?
Thanks everybody, i just want to be as comfortable as possible, but anything to get through all of this of course will be worth it, i hope...
Also, how "major" is the "major drug-drug interaction", if you understand what i mean, you would if you used the interactions checker.
