My boyfriend is prescribed
Ultram by his doctor for general reasons. He complains of back pain and just not always feeling good in general and the Dr. prefers to give him that over narcotics since he's only 24. I was out of state for a while and he didn't have a ride to the Dr. and he ran out of meds, then had to reschedule his appointment due to work. I made it to the Dr. and got my usual 3 month supply and saw no harm in giving him 5 of mine since we take the exact same thing and he was out. Well, unbeknowest to me he got into my meds while I was in my work (he was there with me) and decided to take 15 more. He used to abuse
hydrocodone (which he quit cold turkey on his own with no insistence from anyone) so I guess he thought Ulltram was nothing... was he ever wrong. About 45 mins to an hour later we were inside my job and he had a grand mal seizure that lasted for about 5 minutes and scared me half to death. I didn't know about the extra ultram and thought he was dying or something. If you've never seen one of these believe me, you don't want to. I sincerely hope he didn't do any permanant damage to himself, and I've read online now about several similar cases. PLEASE be careful with your ultram!! Just because it's a narcotic doesn't mean it can't cause severe side effects. I just wanted to share this with everyone in hopes at least one person will be spared the horror of seeing a loved one go thru what he did.
