Default Restoril?

My pain doc prescribed me 15mg of this (actually I opted for the generic, Tamezepam(sp) ), and I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this drug?

I took one last night, and was up til 3 again. Looks like tonite is gonna be a long one too.

Temazepam (marketed under brand names Restoril®, Normison®, Tenox® and Temaze®), which is a benzodiazepine derivative, is a powerful hypnotic drug. It possesses strong anxiolytic, hypnotic, anticonvulsant, amnestic, sedative and skeletal muscle relaxant properties.

It is usually prescribed in low doses so you may have to take two at night to get to sleep.
Be careful if your taking opiate pain killers or alcohol then you shouldn't take more than 1 at bedtime.Hope this helps ........Dave

Thanks. I have noticed that (since starting it 3 days ago) it isn't doing ANYTHING to help me sleep. It's like taking a sugar pill. I do take Kadian, Neurontin, Percocet, and Zanaflex for pain (all prescribed for me)

I will try two tonite. I have taken the one already and will take another as soon as I finish typing this reply.

Thanks for the help...

Nothing. Not a darn thing. I was still up til my usual 3am. I tried laying on the couch for an hour, everything. It was just like taking sugar again. I am close to giving up on getting any decent sleep. We have tried everything else on the list of usual sleep meds. My pdoc is now sending me for a sleep study. I guess to find out what my patterns are? Argh...Im SO frustrated...

I tried that about a year ago. It didnt work for me at all. I ran out of my ambien 12.5 CR the other night and tried it again I was desperate. I ended up taking one of those, a benedryl and drinking calm tazo tea and FINALLY went to sleep but that stuff is junk to me LOL

Smile Restoril

I was also on Restoril for a brief time, and it didn't help me sleep at all. Seems like after you try 2 HS, you might want to get another prescription for something more effective.
