Remeron(Mirtazapine) is a tetracyclic antidepressant.
it should nbe used with caution in patients with:
1.patients with mania
2.do not drive, drink alcohol or work on heavy machinery
3.patients with hyperlipidemia(increased cholesterol in blood)
4.seek immediate help if you develop fever chills sore throat or infection. this drug causes immunosuppression.
5.use with caution in patients with cardiac conditions.
6. this drug is not recommended for pregnant women.
so with some caution it is possible to use this drug in patients with
heart disease or stroke. no specific contraindication exists.regular follow up will pick up any untoward eventuality.
