Default To reduce, or increase Zoloft?

I have been on 50 mg Zoloft a week now and I'm going to see my doctor next Thursday. Just yesterday my girlfriend called it off with me, which of course will add to depression. And today I had an anxiety attack and was hyperventilating and just got home from the ER. I was just wondering if this should change my dosage at all?

Brian,
That would be up to your doctor as to changing the dosage. I'd suggest monitoring yourself and see how anxious you are between now and your dcotor visit; you don't want to increase a dosage just because you think you MAY get worse...see how it's going by then. Also, losing a relationship can be hard to deal with, BUT it's not impossible to make it a manageable situation. If the doctor you're going to see is a psychiatrist, then I'd definitely talk with him/her about the break up...maybe he/she can suggest ways of helping you through it without medication. Anyway, Good luck and I hope this helps.
