Default Question about oxycodone

I have been prescribed oxycodone 10/650. I have never had it before. Once before I was prescribed oxycodone (after my c-section), but the numbers after it said something like 37.5/???, I can't really remember but I know it wasn't the numbers I have on this bottle. Does anyone know the difference? Thanks for your help!

37.5 isn't enough information to go by, and it doesn't make sense for any oxycodone marking or strength. My best guess is you had 7.5/325 before. There are around 30 different generics/brand names you probably got a different brand or strength this time.

Oxycodone is a combo of two drugs ...one is acetaminophen and the other is oxycodone hydrochloride. In the pills you are taking now there is 10 mgs. of oxycodone and 650 mgs. of acetaminophen.

The other would have been 37.5 mgs.[or whatever this mg is suppose to be] of oxycodone and the amount of acetaminophen is the numbers in mgs. that you don't remember.

Hope this helps.

Debbie

Try to be correct! But not always successful!

Taken it a day at a time.

Dizzy, LOL, I think you mixed that up. Oxycodone is just that, Oxycodone by itself, not a combo of anything.

I think she meant to say that those types of drugs are a combo of Oxycodone and Acetaminophen. Some of the name brands for this are Percocet, Endocet, Roxicet, Tylox, Roxilox, and others, depending on which company manufactured it.

Cats is right though, it doesn't come in 37.5 mgs, Tramadol with Acetaminophen does, that would be under the name brand Ultracet among others, but Oxy doesn't come in 37.5mgs strength even by itself.

What you have right now is 10mgs Oxycodone and 650mgs of Acetaminophen. That is the highest dosage of Oxy you can get in these types of meds.

You probably had a different med altogether, or a different dosage of Oxy after your c-section.

My information is not guaranteed correct. I do not get them right all the time, but I do enjoy the hunt~
