Propecia Side Effects

My main question is about propecia and birth defects. Does propecia cause bith defects even if the mother doesn't come in contact with the pill but the father is on propecia. I know all the usual side effects but I'm not really clear on this one. Can someone taking propecia have children and not worry about the male baby being deform? Users of propecia and knowledgeable people answer, please!
