Hello. My doctor prescribed Prilosec. I have really bad anxiety especially when it comes to taking a new medication so I'm afraid I might be allergic to it and my throat will swell up. That's just how I am. Has anyone ever been allergic to the stuff?

I am not a doctor, but I work at a gastroenterologist office. I have never heard of anyone being allergic to prilosec. It is over the counter, so it's not as strong as the others. I took it for years until it stopped working, then had to go to another one. I think you should be ok. Your doctor wouldn't have put you on it if he thought it would be a problem.
