Unhappy Is it possible to use hydrocodone for suboxone?..

Hello... Ive been prescribed for suboxone for about 3 months now. I decided to help my friend out with this two weeks prescription.. I gave him 2 days worth of my suboxone leaving me with 2 days short. I found some Hydrocodone. I know I wont really get a high but will it at all take away the withdrawals I will have from the suboxone? Im really scared. Please give me good news...

Thats what I get for being nice ><. My friend has a big opiate problem thats why I helped him.

You helped someone else and now you're s crewed. That made no sense. If you start on hydros you'll get into a mess gettting back on the subs. When is your dr appt? If it's only two days you should ride it out. With the long half life of suboxone you will barely notice it. Don't give your meds away anymore. God bless.

Thanks Robert. I dont think I can handle the emotional stuff now. Its already SO strong its almost unbearable. even with my suboxone. Im not normally an emotional wreck but this time is different. MY best friend or 4 years, not the one I gave my pills to, Came out and told me he didnt want to he around me anymore. I have no desire to start doing those nasty opiates again. I need something to ease me or I have a feeling things might go bad. Im not suicidal or anything. I just can thandle this right now. I have to work all weekend.

Anyways. will it work to relive any withdrawals or am I screwed either way?

You shouldn't get sick in two days. That's my point. The sub half life is way too long to where it won't even be making you sick yet in two days. Why would you take pills over a couple days? Hang in there you'll be fine. God bless.

If the subs stay in for three days wouldnt it be silly to try any hydrocodone? I would think you would get sick. thats what my doc told me anyway. But on a different post i thought someone said the half life of subox was 10-12 hours. So other than some lingering subs, how could it last 2-3 days? And if thats the case when tapering why not go to every other day or every third day?

Don't let anyone kid you. The half life of buprenorphine is between 36 -72 hours based on some variables. Whoever said 10-12 hours is wrong. Xanax has a half life that long! God bless.
