I was given 1 mg xanax for a long time by my doctor...but now he changed me to 1 MG Lorazepam.....what can I expect/what is the difference? I mean,I realize both are benzo's,but what are the other changes in the two?

The lorazepam has a longer half life than xanax. It doesn't affect you quite as quickly as the xanax. Lorazepam is more for anxiety and xanax is more for panic attacks. Hope that helps. God bless.

Thanks so much for helping me understand.So now I see why ,when I told my doctor that the 1 mg xan's at 3 times a day were making me out of it somedays....so that's when he changed me.
So is there a possobility to take a certain amount of Lorazepam to equal to ONE Xanax? Or no? Just wondering how that would work...or would it?
