i would like to know if anyone out there is taking plavix and if they have had any side effects . my husband is taking it and had a stroke i've heard this causes strokes. i would like to find out if this drug does cause strokes. thanks lois

My husband has been on Plavix for 11 days. He stopped today, due to many side affects................dizziness, extremely tired, sleeping much of the day.........upset stomach. Stopped today as the last two days, he had increased dizziness, listless, beet red in face and all over body, then rash appeared with itching ...........blood pressure during the last 2 episodes was slightly elevated.........will contact his Dr. tomorrow, and see if there isn't something else he may need to take before another heart surgery scheduled for Feb. 1........................will NOT continue with this drug..................feel it is very unsafe for him. Stroke, was something this drug is suppose to help prevent, along with heart attack..............................Samantha.
