I have been trying to research the drug phentermine online and keep finding contradicting information. What I am trying to figure out: is phentermine actually in the drug class "amphetamines" or is it just similar? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I am also trying to find out more about phentermine. I have high blood pressure and taking medication for this condition. I wanted to know if this medicine is contraindicated for toses with high blood pressure or can this drug be taken safely with my condition.

I do know that one of the side effects of phentermine is elevated blood pressure, so if you already have high blood pressure, you may want to consult your doctor before taking it. Also, I'm wondering if there would be any kind of interaction between phentermine and your blood pressure medication since one raises it and the other is intended to lower it...Anyone else have any thoughts or facts? Thanks!
