Default Pharmacist Q re: outdated amoxycillin

What will happen to me if I take outdated (4/30/03) Amoxycillin??

It is a full prescription..never used.

As long as it never got moist or in sunlight for any length of time it may be still good.It certainly won't hurt you and you will know if it's working in about 3 days,the usual time for an antibiotic to start to work.....Good luck...Dave

These meds do not get dangerous over time, only tetracycline based antibiotics do that, but they may get a little less effective, so you might find yourself better served to take two at a time, instead of one.
