Hi,
I started taking Paxel four days ago for social anxiety disorder. I smoke marijuana occasionaly. How much of an issue is it and what kind of effects/interaction can one expect from taking Paxel and smoking marijuana occasionaly (no more than once a month usually)?


I was also wondering about this: I know that you're supposed to be careful about alcohol when taking Paxel. I'm supposed to take my pill of Paxel before I go to bed. Is it a problem to take the pill after drinking? Is this an issue? Should I ask my doctor about switching to taking the pill in the morning? I don't drink real often but I just wanted to know the best way to go about this.

basically, paxil is supposed to be an antidepressant. and alcohol is a depressant. therefore it is just understood that you should not mix them. read more here:

weed is an entirely different issue. it has effects on brain chemistry and this is obvious bc you get high. this high is often associated with a flushing of brain chemicals all at once. once this happens the paxil cannot really do its job. read this
