Default pain relief interactions

My sister is having some challenges with her pain management... she had double knee replacement and having the pain of the surgery in the knees AND cramping in her calves ad back and quads that are pretty extreme. She has been prescribed Oxycodone-acitominaphine this seems to take care of the knee pain, but does not address the cramping muscles. We put her on some Naproxen-sodium which does address the cramping but not the knee pain. Is it possible to take these medications together?

Any insights would be great!

Best,
Jenn

Taking two NSAIDs together is not advisable since they tend to counteract each other, so you should not use both the Acetaminophen and Naproxen.

You can however switch to just Oxycodone (Oxy IR or Roxicodone), it does come without the Acetaminophen, so then she could continue to use it with the Naproxen without any problems.

Get Some Potassium Vitamains. Pottasium Works Wonders For Leg Cramping Or What Are Commonly Know As "Charlie Horses". You Can However Also Get A Prescrpition From A Doctor For A Higher Dose. It Takes A Couple Of Days To Actually Really Notice Any Help But After Taking The Potassium For A Bit It Does Wonders. My Aunt Doesnt Like Taking Pills So She Used To Eat 3 Bananas A Day For The Potassium Intake.

Hope This Helps.

I'm Not A Pharmacist Or A Medical Doctor. This Message Is Not Medical Advice Or Is It An Offer To Provide Medical Advice. All Drug I.Ds Should Be Validated By A Licensed MD Or Pharmacist. But I Do Enjoy Helping If I Can.
