Question Oxydone side effect vs. Hydrocodone

I was wondering if someone could help me out with this. My dad has taken Hydrocodone before with side effects besides the minor one's that are listed. However, he hurt his back at work and was given Oxycodone. He had taken it for three or four days with no major side effects but on the fifth day, he began to have hives arise shortly after taking the same amount of Oxycodone. Does anyone know any thing about this regarding the differences in the drugs and why this may happen?
Thank you in advance

They are two completely different drugs. Both are opiates but sounds like he had a minor reaction to the oxycodone. It does make some people itch. Hope he's doing better. God bless.
