How is it that oxycodone effects or causes urinary retention?
What effect does it have on men with an enlarged prostate?

Hi Dan
The opiates in general appear to increase the release of antidiuretic hormone and cause spasm of the urethral sphincter. So it will probably be a problem in people with prostatic hypertrophy or urethral stricture. How much of an ACTUAL problem this is in real life with oxycodone, though - I'm not sure. There shouldn't be too much harm in trying it at a low dose & see if bladder activity worsens.
