Default Orapred Side Effects

My grandson was prescribed Orapred. He does not have asthma, but the Dr. thought that with his other allergies and severe coughing (bordering on croup), he needed this to reduce swelling.
He came home from daycare today with a note about his awful behavior. He was out of control. Even at home, he has been like a person on speed. He is 3 years old. He was prescribed 2 teaspoons once daily. Has anyone had similar problems?

One of the most common side effects of Orapred is difficulty sleeping, which may be contributing to the problem. Make sure the Orapred dose is given first thing in the morning. If things don't improve, it is worth mentioning to your grandson's doctor, especially if the course of Orapred is to be taken for more than a few days.
