Default Oramorph Oral Solution

My husband is undergoing radiation therapy for throat cancer and has reached the painful part. In addition to to co-codomol, and oxetacaine (which he finds too gooey) he has been prescribed oramorph to take in between co-codomol doses. First half of the day he is better able to take in certain foods, but water seems always to be a problem, and is more painful than anything else. Does anyone have similar experience, or any answers?
