 Nystatin swish and swallow
I have a question concerning the following 2 orders:
Nystatin suspension PO - swish and swallow
Hydrogen peroxide diluted with saline PO - swish and spit
Which of these should I do first? I can't find this info in my books. I will call hospital pharmacy if I don't find out tonight. I am thinking that the patient should be given the Nystatin first and then the mouth should be rinsed with the hydrogen peroxide, but someone else thinks the hydrogen peroxide should be given first to rinse out the mouth. |
