Default Negative reactions to Phentermine (aka-Fastin)

I would like to know if anybody has had any negative reactions to Phentermine? Whether is be side effects, withdrawl symtoms, or any experience with Phentermine causing an inability to absorb nutrients and minerals. I have been on it daily taking 18.75mg (1/2 of a 37.5mg tablet) for about 3 months. I have recently been experiencing muscle cramps and charlie horses in my calves and feet. Does anybody have knowledge of this being a side effect?
Along with diet and excercise, I have lost 10lbs and a couple of inches and have 7 more lbs to go to reach my goal weight. Does anybody know if a person will gain back their weight once going off of this diet-aid?

Oh Yes, when you stop taking phen you can gain your weight back and more! Just becareful not to fully rely on the phen for your weight loss. As for as reactions, alot of people do have reactions. They range from getting mad to heart problems. You might want to ask your doc about potassium for cramping. Also, drink alot of water while youare taking phen. If not careful, you can dehydrate. As for as myself, my experience with phen, I go to sleep as if I've taken a sleeping pill.Good-luck on your weight loss! and congradulations on the weight you have already lost!!

Don't take phen with SSRI's! Very bad psychosis episodes have been documented. For you problem, try drinking more water, close to gallon per day. Also a little gatorade mid day would do your electrolytes well.

Although I am a nurse, this is a post as a friend of someone who took Phentermine (not as professional advice).

There are MANY side effects/ill effects associated with Phentermine, and it is still a contoversial medication in the medical field. If you are taking it, get as much information as you can about the drug because it is not without significant risk. I am not saying that you will (some people do fine, my friend did), but you should be very informed about that medication. My friend made the decision to take it, but I declined. Good luck!

I too took phentermine and lost 28 lbs a few years ago. I have now gained it back due to lack of will power! I had a side effect of dry eyes. I wear contact lens and my eyes dried out so that my contact caused an ulcer on my cornea. Be careful.
