The two are the same. I may have misunderstood you, but hydrocodone is the generic name for Vicodin, Lortab, and Norco, maybe others.

Do you have a regular doctor that you see regularly? If so, you should have at least started to form a trusting relationship with him. Ask, respectfully but firmly; tell him honestly what medicines work for you, which don't and how bad and frequent the pain is. His response may surprise you.

If the pain is frequent and/or severe, and you can find no relief from physician(s) you kow, this chronic pain link lists, by state and city, doctors who may be willing to treat pain:

doctorsforpain.com/physicians/index.html

Don't be put off too much by attitude; they may just be testing you (I know, I'm emotional, myself). You may be asked to try another medicine at first; if you've never had bad or non-existent results, try it out;a doctor may label you an addict if you are too specific as to what you want.

It's a shame we have to go thru this, but the doctors get hassled, too when they're accused of "overprescribing" by the DEA or local police; that's why it looks best when you have a regular doctor, and get most of your meds from him.

Anyhow, hope it works out for you. keep in touch.

yours in freedom,
Legend
