need info on a drug? Hello everyone. I am new here and this is my first post. Just a brief history. I have GAD and have been on effexor xr since 2000. After getting married 6 months ago, I had an "episode" and developed severe panic attacks after the wedding was over and done with. (Too much stressing I guess ) My Dr. gave me some ativan at first for temporary relief, and then prescribed klonipin. I was hesitant to take it, but decided to take .5mg when needed. It started to ease my anxiety. Recently I have had a few "episodes" and went back to see my Doctor. I have had trouble sleeping, so she prescribed Trazadone. I am hesitant to take it, after doing some research on the pill. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions. Thanks for the advice -
trazadone experience i have been on trazadone for approximately 1 1/2 years. I am also taking Wellbutrinl, risperdal, lamictal, prozac, & lorazapam as needed. I have weight gain, but am unsure which med aids in that (lamictal? prozac?); only thing i have against trazadone is the "hangover". It makes me feel groggy the next day. it does help my nightmares, sleeplessness due to anxiety, it shuts my mind down....i am overweight & take meds daily, but still fall asleep within one hour of taking trazadone. when i am having a day that is hard to get through (ie: moderate disorientation, confusion, rage, etc), i go ahead & take it, sleep, & usually wake up able to try again. Good Luck! Lorazapam has helped me greatly with mild panic attacks (able to go to wal-mart/necessary shopping, functions w/family, even socialize. If your doc is good, doc will talk over your concerns & maybe try drug therapy till find the right med for you. -
Hi Hagbeetch, I was wondering if your hang over may be from the lorazapam mixed with the trazadone. You seem to be taking some meds in the same class.Prozac and wellbutrin for example, are you seeing just one doctor for all these meds.I'm worried that you may be overmedicated...Dave
