Default Nardil

After 13 years of using SSRI's mainly Prozac and Zoloft, they are no longer effective for my unipolar depression. It has been three weeks since I last took any A/D's including Prozac and to be safe I am wanting to wait the full 5 weeks to purge Prozac from my system before I start taking Nardil. I was taking 100mg Prozac for over 3 years and was rotating between Prozac and Zoloft with Desipramine for the longest time until they all pooped out. This included Remeron, Lamictal, Lithium, Paxil, Elavil, Celexa, Effexor, etc. Tried all the above in different combos until they all pooped out. I am thinking of cutting the washout days from 5 weeks to 4 weeks or even now at 3 weeks because I am having a very difficult time coping with my depression especially since I have not been on any A/D's for nearly 3 weeks. Any suggestions or comments? If I can, I will wait the 5 weeks before I start Nardil. I already have Nardil in my hot little hands which make it twice as hard. Thanks for your time.

Hi there
It really would be better if you could wait the 5 weeks before starting. There might be small amounts of Prozac floating around your system as it's cleared pretty slow. The combination with Nardil isn't good - but by 5 weeks, it shouldn't be enough to concern. Because you were on a fairly high dose of Prozac, it really would be better to wait. Hang in there - you can do it!!
