Is my BF abusing meds?

Hi,

I came to this site in hopes of finding out what all these pills are my BF takes. I know they are all prescribed for what he calls "dual diagnoses".

My concerns started after dating 6 months and he started to sleep all the time. 12 hours a night and then naps in the day. He also has glassy eyes with red rims and slurs when he talks like he is drunk.

Why is it a person needs so much medication? He is on 5 Thorazine a day. 3 200 mg Seroquel at night and 3 Doxepin to sleep. Also Prozac and Propanol and a thyroid med and stool softner.

I am having a hard time with seeing him all drugged up and this was not how he was when we met. He says his meds have not changed.

Anyone have any suggestions? I am tired of dating a zombie.

Yeah, take off running and don't look back, those are very heavy duty anti-psychotics, he's mentally disturbed to be prescribed this. Please don't feel it's your duty to help him through this, spare yourself misery. No doubt he's a vegetable.

Yes, Sadly this is what I ended up doing. Sometimes it's better to walk away and sometimes to run.

I'm not a doctor but thanks to this site I was able to look up the medication and ask here.

You did the right thing Larrk.Nothing against the guy but the last thing he could probably handle would have been a relationship.Good luck on the next one......Dave
