Hi, everyone. I'm new here, but have a question. I'm currently taking 30mg of MS Contin every twelve hours for a back problem,I started at 15mg every 12 hs. with no luck, but 3 days ago, my Dr. bumped me up. The side effects for me are seriously increased drowsiness, and it's dricing me nuts, I need to drive places and can't always rely on others. Does anyone know if this effect will gradully fade, even slightly? Or do I have to change my dose....

Talk to your doctor. There may be a more suitable pain killer for you.

I take oxycontin 80mg 3 times a day. I no longer even feel the effect of them. I think over time you will get used to the 30mg tablets. A word of advice is not to increase your dosage any faster than you absolutely have to. There are few places to go after you become tolerant to oxycodine.
