on 6/15/05 my friend had 5 bypasses stayed in surgery for 8 hrs then on 6/17/05 his heart valuve was leaking and had another surgery of replacing the valuve. well wednesday was a week for the 1st surgery & friday was a week for the 2nd surgery and hes not awake. he will not respond to us asking him questions. hes still in icc and they have his hands & feet tied down. and all hes doing is shaking his head back & fourth moaning his heart rate keeps going up his blood preasure is up hes on life susport but hes still not responding to us!
the doctors have him on morphine,lortab,xanax,ativan,ambuim,just trying all of these medicines to see if they the reason hes not responding yet. the only thing he takes for pain is lortab where he hurt his back 2 yrs ago. is this normal for him not to be responding to us? should'nt he be awake by now? they talking about doing a brain scan on him. how long do you stay in icu? and how long does it take for him to wake up and respond?? i just want to know is all of this normal after having 2 heart surgerys.
