Default Methodone Withdrawl...PLEASE HELP!

Hello, I am in need of some advice very badly. I had been taking Methadone for about 5 years off and on. I currently was on 50 mg. of Methadone and detox to 31 mg. I got sick of going and decided to start taking 8 mg. of Suboxone. I waited 24 hours to take the Suboxone, but I went through sever withdrawl both days I took it. It has been 5 days since I have taken anything and I am still going through withdrawl. I have complete gut rut, chills, sweats, and now I am starting to feel depressed. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do? Please help!

I too was on methadone for about 3 years. My highest dose was 180mgs. Well, I finally detoxed down and made the switch to Suboxone. What happened to you was you took the Suboxone before you were in withdrawl and it blocked all your methadone. You said that you haven't taken anything at all in 5 days. Now would be the perfect time to start the Suboxone. I know it's scary becuz of how sick you got before, but believe me you will feel better. Suboxone has saved my life. Methadone (liquid handcuffs) is the hardest drug to detox off of becuz of it's long half-life. My email is snoclaf94@msn.com. Shoot me an email and let me know how the Suboxone is working now. I think your going to be very happy. Good luck. Kevin.

Default Stick With Suboxone!!!

kevin is 100% right on this one...

the suboxone probably did not work because of how much methadone you were using and because of its long half-life.....

i was taking oxycontin for 3 years and the suboxone literally saved my life....

just remember to let the pill COMPLETELY DISSOLVE UNDER YOUR TONGUE before digesting it. the only way suboxone will work is if it gets in your bloodstream, and chewing and/or swallowing it WILL NOT give you anywhere close to the full effects of what you should be getting compared to letting it dissolve under your tongue....

AVOID TALKING when letting it dissolve as well, many doctors say that if you talk it can affect how much is dissolved into your bloodstream.... if you need to my e-mail is bradn6919@gmail.com i'd be glad to help you in any way!!!

good luck!!
