Good drug for short term use *2 weeks or less*. Typical RX doses are 3-4 grams continious, up to 8 grams a day for very short term use.
It does interact with opioids and can increase the risks of respiratory depression if you use them together.
I've taken it, it helpd me. It does interact to some degree with my opioid pain killers, got some impressive sedation the first couple days. That passed, and now it's fairly smooth sailing. They don't work as well as
Soma, and in some ways not as well as
Skelaxin (though in others better).
Kind of middle of the pack as far as the muscle relaxers I've tried. Less than say Soma,
Baclofen...About the same as Norflex if you take enough of it. If you have a lot of actual spasticity -- you would probably do better on Baclofen or
Zanaflex or even a Benzo if you only need it short term.
Good luck.
Are you numb yet? No. AARRGGGGGHH! I told you I wasn't numb! Sorry, I didn't believe you.
