Default methadone withdrawal problems

Seems like Suboxone is what everyone is mentioning
We looked it up, but has anyone actually USED it?
When you read the information, it reduces the effect of the methadone and has its own withdrawal issues?
So before really finding out, would really like to know if
anyone on these chats ever actually used Suboxone???
Thanks

FYI My son is aware of my posting, Im the computer person here
so he does know I am researching for info for him

I am currently on subutex/bupenephrine (sorry spelling) In my opinion and from speaking to other who have gone from methadone to this drug it is a god send!!!! You do not feel the drug as in a high at all, it helps some what if any pain is involved...
Your son can be switched to suboxone which has something added to it so there is no worry of main lining... it also has a block, meaning if he tries to take any kind of narc he wont feel it..
As far as coming off of it , I hear it is much better then the other narcs and especially methadone....... I have a woman on my forum who wanted off methadone after using it for 15 years, she started her detox and had gone through it for 30 days or more, then she went to subutex. She has said this drug saved her life and hopes to come off it some day when her arthritis can be handled without narcs... I have heard of some using it to tapper over 5 days but it was off vicoden and was a success. IMO I think having your son see a DR about using this to get off methadone may bring him better success. I haven't personally heard a bad thing about it except if you have real bad pain you can't take anything b/c of the block, except for in an emergency situation if there is a car accident or some type of bad injury there are ways to get past the block , but a DR must know about the sub use.. they would have to use something pretty strong then.... I think the site for the listing of Drs that can prescribe this for addiction is www.samsha.gov I hope anyway, if not I will check again... Your son needs to be around 20mg or lower to switch over to the sub.. but the DR will cover all that.. This drug has saved my liver and kidneys from drugs i would need for my pain... b/c my tolerance kept going up. I needed more and more... This has held me for almost 2 years but I do still have bad pain days... Your son will be a new person with this drug and as i said I have heard after taking it for a while and since he will need to take it for a while to get the methadone out of his system, that it is much easier withdrawal wise, this is just what I have heard through a few people.... I hope this has helped you? Good luck... Theresa
