Default Mallinkrodt Oxycode M5

The usual dosage of plain oxycodone is 5mg? Can you take 10mg's for more severe pain. I have Mallinkrodt Oxycodone with an M5 stamped on one side. It's scripted for one tablet, but I assumed that there had to be more you could do for increased pain. Anyone know? Thanks.

Oxycodone immediate release is availiable in 5, 10, 15 and 30mg doses, so a dose of more than 5 mg would be appropriate for someone in severe pain who has developed a tolerance to opiates. Be careful thou, as oxy is a very addictive narcotic and things like taking more than your prescribed dose is usually the first step towards substance abuse. If the 5s arent working, you may want to see yr doc about something more effective if you are in chronic long term pain.
