Default Mallinckordt vs. Watson vs, whatever...

hi all...i finally found a doctor who was willing to prescribe me some pain medication...there are so many different generics for them. is one more effective than the other??? i've heard good things about watson but isn't mallinkcordt also an established company!? then there are even more...generics are supposed to be exactly the same as the "original", no? has anyone here a "favorite" manufacturer? buying the brand name is so expensive and every pharmacist tells me it's supposed to be the same. "supposed to be"...well, is it or isn't it??? I am confused.

please help.

thank you!

ella

I've taken a dozen different kinds of hydrocodone and they all work the same, the only difference is the inactive ingredients and that doesn't do anything for ya. I think people sometimes get a psychological preference for one over another, but that's all it is. What I said may not be applicable for every single generic med made, but by the FDA's laws it's suppose to be. I'm currently taking Mallinckordt hydro and it works just as good as Qualitest, UCB, Watson and the others, and sure they're a huge company.

thanks for your response... i have a friends that swear by certain brands. so is all of that psychsomatic??? "in their heads", so to speak? might some of the inactive ingredients affect some people differently than others, and in the process affect the effect of the hydrocodone part of it???

thanks again for any replies!!!
