Lortab contains two drugs - acetaminophen and hydrocodone

Acetaminophen in high doses can cause liver damage. Excessive doses can be fatal. It is really important not to exceed the recommended dosage.

Hydrocodone is an opiate, which can cause dependence problems if taken over a period of time. Once dependent, stopping abruptly can cause withdrawal symptoms.
