Default Lexapro and Ultram

Ive heard this is a bad combination and can be fatal. I take lexapro 10mg a day and recently prescribed ultram also and the pharmacist said its not a problem. I just read on here it is a problem. Does anyone have any advice, should I not take the lexapro on a day Im taking the ultram? Thanks for the help

hi there are three interactions with taking lexapro and ultram together. i had gotten migranes over and over and went to rite aid to fill my imitrex prescriptions and they asked what all i had been taking with my ultram and i informed them i was still taking lexapro.. you can go to rite aid online and click on pharmacy and then click interactions and they will tell you to type in each drug you take and it will show you the interactions right on line... hope this helps... here is what it says at the rite aid site ULTRAM (TRAMADOL HYDROCHLORIDE) and LEXAPRO (ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE)
Severity: Major

Description: aking ESCITALOPRAM and TRAMADOL may cause problems with your blood pressure, body temperature, muscles, and thinking. You may also have more of a chance for seizures.
If you take escitalopram and are also taking tramadol, you may have problems with your blood pressure, your body temperature, your muscles and your thinking. You may also have more of a chance for seizures. Your doctor may want you to take both medicines. Your doctor may change the amounts of medicines you take. Call your doctor right away for any of the following problems. 1. You have a bad headache. 2. You have trouble walking or speaking. 3. You have trouble moving your arms or legs. 4. You feel anxious. 5. You have trouble thinking. 6. You do not know where you are or know the people around you. 7. You feel very sweaty or have a fever. 8. Your muscles are tight and shaky. 9. Your heart is beating very fast. 10. You faint (pass out). 11. You have a seizure. 12. You have nausea.
