I have been taking Lexapro for 2-3 years now and I'm wondering if I can take tagamet? It's the only thing that works for my acidic stomach really, but luckily I've been able to get by with rolaids/etc.

I'm wondering if I can take these two together? I read somewhere that tagamet can slow down the breakdown of lexapro in the liver, and cause higher than normal levels of escitalopram. Is this what's called "seratonin sickness"? Is it a severe interaction or will it just kind of make me more tired or something?

Thanks, so just nuisance side effects...although I'm not sure which is worse - acid or nausea I guess I'll have to try it and see.

Just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to like double the potency of the lexapro and put me into seratonin syndrome or whatever it is.
