I am new to this board and to tking Lexapro. I have had no problems untill about 1 month ago when I had my first anxiety attack I worked through it myself with breathing and then 2 days ago I had another one again working through it with focusing on my breathing.I just dont feel right about myself. My doc prescribed Lexapro and Ativan to use till the lexapro kicks in. I am nervous about taking any drugs but I hate feeling this way too.
My question is if I will have to be in these drugs for the rest of my life?

You should be taking this drug as prescribed, once you've been on it awhile they usually send you to a shrink.They can help you deal with it without the drugs.The main thing for you right now is to get these attacks under control.I used to suffer from anxiety attacks and they put me on a mild benzo.After awhile I was able to deal with it without the drugs.So I would say "no" you won't be on this drug for ever...........Have a good day....Dave

I saw a therapist for the first time on monday night and I think it was helpful and do continue to go back.Thanks again
