Question levaquin for a dog bite?

i had gone to the doctor yesterday for a dog bite. it was my dog that bit. she tried to warn the other dog to stay away from her food, and i was caught in the crossfire. the doctor prescribe me Levaquin 500 mg. i am looking it up and for what it treats, im confused. my dog is current on all shots why take medicine for something that other people take for STDs and sinuses?

can someone help me understand? and the side effects scare me!

Default Bad Dog!

Well, you know it's a broad spectrum antibiotic, it's often used for skin wounds, sores and the like, he's just making sure it doesn't become infected. Did you have to get stitched? If the bite wasn't too deep, it's clean and bandaged, it probably won't get infected, and you can do without the a/b's. The side effects aren't really any different then any other a/b.

You know, many people don't realize that antibiotics kill the good beneficial bacteria that live in our colon, which aids in digestion, which therefore results in diarrhea. It's good if you're on a/b's to eat yogurt to get the bacteria colonies re-established, and make you regular again.

Please read the fine print on Levaquin before you take them, look at the side effects, their are many of us who have had horrible side-effects with permanent damage... RT
