I was prescribed 3 weeks of
levaquin when my latest bout of prostatitis paid me a visit. I had just come off a small sinus infection which seemed to be cleared up. 2 weeks into the levaquin, my sinuses flared up again, even though levaquin is known to be somewhat on sinus infections. I had a fever for a couple of days (a new one for me when it comes to the sinuses) and had to go see the dr to get rid of the terrible sinus pain that had started. He prescribed 10 days of
Augmentin XR and told me to stop the levaquin, even though I had a week to go. My symptoms of the prostate had gone, but after missing one dose of the levaquin, they came back. I decided to go ahead and take both (spaced out evenly).
I'm hoping the levaquin will do the prostate job while the augmentin does the sinuses. I've searched and haven't found much about combining the two. I did do a check on interactions and talked to one pharamacist who I got on the phone and they checked the same. I guess my curiosity is more about 2 antibiotics being used at the same time in general. Any thoughts???
