I have been taking the fenenyal patch for a long time due to chronic pain that is brought about by a gentic disorder. My doc is taking me off the patch and gave me Klonopin. well, Clonazapem (Clonopin) is a benzodiazapiene, tranquilizer. So it's usage will calm muscle tension, spasms, and depending upon the dosage, sedate one according to individual tolerance. From the family of Xanax,Valium,Ativan,Lorezapem, etc. So to answer your question, YES, it does aid in helping to minimize some w/drawals. Usually a mild dosage of one of the above Benzo's,some very mild tylenol#3,or davcocet,in the intial few weeks. Grab some immodium too,and toilet paper if the drop you right off the Duresgic down to a completely different classification of drug as substitution. be Strong-b/c i can't!
