I've been on 40mg
Celexa daily for about a year. A month ago I had to add 300mg
Neurontin daily & 5-10 mg of
Flexeril at night per my rheumotologist for fibromyalgia & degenerative joint disease. Saw my primary dr. today, Neurontin isn't working so he wants me to try
amitriptyline.
HERE'S THE THING: I'm to stop Nuerontin, Celexa & Flexeril cold turkey all the same day & begin amitrip. the next day. I questioned the rapid stop/start & interactions & he "assured" me it was fine.

The drug info, interactions & even info for health professionals here all say this is VERY dangerous; that Celexa shouldn't be stopped suddenly, taking Amitrip. w/an SSRI in your system can be fatal, Neurontin can cause nasty serious withdrawal - not to mention doing all this AT THE SAME TIME. Called the pharmacy I get all my meds from & they ALSO said this was fine.
So here I am, confused as &*^%, not knowing what to do & who to believe. I trust & like my PCP, he's never steered me wrong but damn- this is a biggie! Is this site reliable? It appears to be, but I also thought my dr & pharm were & there's a huge conflict here! Are there any professionals &/or experienced members who can provide some guidance? I would really appreciate it! Thanks so much, don't know where else to turn...
