Default I'm a newbie. Please read is about Lexapro

Hi to all. I started Lexapro for moderate depression and anxiety. I was on paxil for almost 2 years than stop the medication and had withdrawal sideffect for 8 month. The f*ck up sh*t is i really didn't need medication when i took it. i actually needed therapy. but looking back is not going to make things better. i decided to go on a milder medication, which is Lexapro. Today is my 3rd day on it and all of a sudden my mouth got extremely dry and i also got a little drowsy. i was on 2 more stronger meds, paxil and zoloft and i don't remember having dry mouth and drowsyness, but maybe i did.
Will this side with time fade away once my body addapts to it?
Is this medication is good for moderate depression and anxiety?
Your answer will be appreciated. thanks

Dry mouth and drowsiness are indeed side effects of Lexapro, and most of the time you may develop tolerance to it as time goes by.

I suggest you take some non-drug approaches to tacklet the dry mouth problem e.g. sugarfree hard candies & chewing on ice cubes, and hopefully when u develop tolerance the problem will be minimized.

the length of time to develop tolerance varies from person to person, but generally two to three weeks shall be fine.

But note that some people develop tolerance much slower than the others due to genetic difference.

If after that time period u a still bothered with the side effect, u may wanna change the dose or substitute with an alternative that is better tolerated. There is no point to keep suffering from a drug that brings you much harm than good.
